Today my lovely wife Therese (aka Queen bee) and I had the supreme privilege of being guests on our very first Skype conference with the 2nd grade class of Alamosa Elementary School in Oceanside CA.  We truly live in an age of miracles.  We set up a table on the roof in front of our hives and waited for the call.  It came through right at 1100 am and we spoke for 45 minutes.  The connection was flawless.  The kids were excited to talk to us.  Totally memorable.  We have been planning on getting an observation hive to bring to schools, but this, coupled with the LA Times video on us, worked as well.  Click for more information on Skype in the classroom.
